Judge, Larry Stock at www.panteraparts.com has been restoring magnesium wheels since the '90s, and even has reconditioned wheels in stock, using yours as cores. Low pressure cast magnesium has some "interesting" properties, one of which is, it builds up stresses over time, then develops cracks starting at pores in the structure. This can be alleviated by heating the wheels to anneal such stresses per aerospace specs. Heating discolors the protective paint so the annealed wheels are then repainted, and will need new valve stems; recommend metal, NOT rubber. Also used for Halibrand & other cast mag racing wheels.

Thank you, everyone, for the information. I feel terrible recommending this gentleman without personal knowledge. My mistake! I heard through the viper community he did some wheel repairs that were great, but that isn't important if he's not a good man.

We should not confuse a person's leadership qualities with their morals. Michael is not a bad man by any means, his management style was not suited to a community decision by committee organization. He had some great ideas just his manner of execution was very abrupt. He is a very dedicated Pantera owner and has a good reputation when it comes to delivering on customer satisfaction for wheel restoration.
