There is a long answer.....This is too short to do it justice but...
DeTomaso's wife is part of the family that owns/built Rowan Industries....That company later owned part of Detomaso USA, I think before Ford bought in....and Rowan working with DeT, they built a couple of electric cars....
This is well described in books on DeT.

Can't help you. My DeTomaso Buyers Guide says that approximately three (3) prototypes wre built in the period 1967-1970. At least 3 different 48-volt DC motors wrre mentioned, all driving the rear wheels. Batteries wre in both ends of the tiny car. This car was never maufactured, so what you have is a true prototype, and it sounds like you don't have a complete one, either. A few photos are shown in the out-of-print Buyers Guide.
