I would say yes there is a market for replacement parts and having them available might make more of the rust buckets or accident damaged viable for repair if cost is below what they can be sourced at currently. Most parts can already be sourced, the fenders are probably the hardest. Being in Europe the cost of shipping to the US will be a factor unless you can bulk ship a quantity and sell from here.

Whether you can find enough interest up front with payments to fund the venture is also a question, how long before you need to recoup your investment? Maybe you can partner with a vendor who is willing to stock them if you don't want to be a long term seller?

How will the panels be made, stamped or hand formed?

Some of these elements were available from Roland Jaeckel but he ceased his activity. I have read that he would have sold his stock, but I do not know if it is true and if so to whom?
Because it would be a competitor at least in Europe

The fenders and outer panel will be stamped, the inner structure for the front will be hand formed.

Roland sold the bulk of his parts I believe, I thought I heard to someone in Sweden?

my guess is yes, for the Europeans, especially since getting big parts from the US is prohibitively expensive with shipping, then you have the customs and VAT on top. So a source of good parts, that are typical accident parts such as front fenders, rear fenders and rear panel in Europe are probably a good place to start, as well as the typical rust damaged parts. However, as was mentioned selling them to the US may be a problem, so finding a good shipping solution would be important. I think the front fenders are the things in most dire need of remanufacture, as they haven't existed for quite a long time (apart from the top part). I don't need anything my self, but I would like the middle part - as you describe it - of the right hand front fender. I am not so happy with mine.

I talked to Roland late last year and he did sell all of his stock. He wouldn't say who the buyer was, just that is was a non-commercial buyer. This would mean that it is unlikely that any of his old stock will come up for sale on the open market.

Potentially this would give you a better chance, since one large parts supplier has ceased to do business and his old stock is off the market.

Production time 10-12 month

Production star when i have order on 5 sets.

Payment 50% with order, rest before shipment from Denmark.

I would make that investment and send a deposit for 5 sets and resell the other 4 sets.  But 10-12 months is much too long.   I would need a a set within a month and that set I could also see the quality and fitment of the fenders. The balance of the sets would have to be within the next 3-4 months maximum.

The parts are not hand made over a buck.

They are stamped. a copy of a new original part.

The Company who make the stamping of the parts has a waiting list on 10-12 month.

Someone should manufacture the whole body like Dynacorn does for classic muscle cars.

Then we can open track/race Panteras without fearing we'll destroy something irreplaceable.

 Have the molds to allow stamping of these parts already been made? Or is the manufacturer wanting to have orders and deposit money in hand before he goes to the expense of making the molds?

If by “the investment “ you are referring  to fabricating the stamping molds,  I now better understand the time delay. 

 Learning that this would be your project I am wondering if you could provide a snapshot description of what is involved using current technology to actually make a stamping mold?   I imagine today’s process is vastly different from the process of 50 years ago. 3-D scans now for sure,  but are the molds then CNC created from a block of steel, 3-D printed/created with a plastic composite, etc? 

Always curious to learn new things  

 Perhaps a company video or something available on YouTube?

Hi Kjeld,

It is really great if you can get this organised . Does the fender include the top, or is it only the sides? The opening for the headlight bucket is slightly different for the early Panteras and changes at some time in late 1972, I think. Will you make both types? I guess the fender is made in two pieces by stamping the top and stamping the side, and then welding the two bits together? I am interested in a right hand front fender for a 1974, but I really only want the side, not the top.

Yes there will be a top part and a side part, just like the factory made them. And a part against the A-pillar.

Thats pretty cool. 

I wonder how many pieces you can make before the molds wear. But with this process, it is relatively east to renew the mold if more production is required.

Kielc, that is nice metalwork in those pictures.   The mold process is interesting.
