How do I remove the oil sump from a pantera
Do you have the factory welded-in cross member? If so, it must be removed to allow the oil pan to be removed. Vendors have removable cross members as a replacement.
IPSCO makes a beautiful one.
If you are a good welder (or know one) you just need to add end plates to the piece you cut out, and then you can reuse it.
The cross piece (IIRC) is right at one of the A-Arm / suspension mounting points. So the repaired cross member has to interface to the suspension mount bolt and nut.
You just cut the cross piece off with a saws-all.

And do NOT drive the car with that central crossmember cut away! One guy did, and on the Interstate, he metioned he could pass semis by simply punching the throttle. The chassis was so flexy, his Pantera instantly changed lanes without moving the steering wheel! Scary!
