we need more details on your engine, incl. what you want to do with it - I just repeat the US EXPERTS Smiler Smiler -
stock piston does not mean any bad (as long they are in good shape..same statement old? or new?). I replaced mine as worn out as original old pistons. Well there is always room for improvement..please read the sticky (tech notes) from the Forum pages. Happy to help as I went through a full rebuild. For the cam the question is what lift mechanism is used, Hydro sure yes, but then Flat or Roller? Roller has typically steeper set up.
Roller less top RPM (app. > 6000) but at lower RPM more torque. The Cleveland Experts will get you the details. So your cam is for what lifter set up?
