The A/N hardware shop suggests that I use a 10 A/N fitting into my 1" phenolic spacer to draw vacuum from my PCV breather. I changed carbs and the vacuum port is on the opposite side instead of the front. I have S/S hoses and A/N fittings so this seems to be the best solution. Will it draw too much vacuum from the spacer at the base of the carb compared to the port from the carb? Or am I being too anal? Thanks

Engine vacuum is engine vacuum. No suggeations on that.

My suggestion would be to use the highest location for the source of the vaccuum. The lower the source the more tendancy there is for the engine to syphon oil from the valve covers.

Awhile ago I had my parents 302 Granada syphon 5 quarts on a 400mile trip. Why they didn't blow the engine is beyond me.

Yea, yea, yea...if the pcv is working properly it SHOULDN'T happen. The operative word being shouldn't. Don't you believe it.

All my Fords have oil mysteriously disappear into a black hole. No leaks just ... oil go!

The 289-302's seem to be more suseptable to the phenominan. Probably higher pcv in the valve cover vs. lower connection to the intake.

While the Clevelands don't seem to be particularly sensative but best to plan ahead.
