Will hosted us in real style as all as we came to Toronto to attend the first annual Italian Car Day.

Over 240 fabulous Alfas, Ferraris, Fiats, Lancias, Lambos, Maseratis and DeTomasos were displayed in a beautiful park. Lots of great folks, Italian music and food and some unique and historic Italian rides.

But the most wonderful part was spending 11 hours behind the wheel, flying thru traffic and hanging out with our Canadian DeTomaso friends from all over.

We enjoyed Will's hospitality - garage, parts, tools and some great steaks and booze. A fantastic time was had for sure.

I'm confident others will post some pics and the details of our impressive DeTomaso presentation.

Yup, it was an awesome weekend. Perfect weather (right up to the drive home), great friends, gorgeous cars and a fun time after the show at Will's place.

It was great to see Doug M (INZOWHO) again — especially great that he drove thousands of kilometers to come for the visit AND he brought is beautiful yellow Pantera with him!

DeTomaso was very well represented at the show. Denis took "Best DeTomaso" with his spectacular Mangusta, David B's awesome GT5 won "Best interior of the show" and "Runner-up best DeTomaso". Will won a custom painting to be done of his car by a well-respected local automotive artist. The rest of us just drank in the great times, scenery and sunshine.

And there were some very nice non-DeTomaso cars there too. Gary and his volunteers and partners/sponsors and friends did an incredible organizing job. Everything went very smoothly, all had fun and lots of money was raised for a worthwhile charity. A fantastic start to what I'm sure will grow into Concorso North!

The guys organizing the day did a great job, there were a few teething issues, but the location was fantastic, and the volunteers were on their game.

The DeTomaso showing was outstanding, it had been looking like we would only have 4-5 cars, but 9 showed up (from as far away as Calgary and Montreal) and it was a great showcase for the cars - having David win Best Interior out of all cars at the show was an added bonus for the marque, and a testament to the quality of the work he has in his car.

We'll have to make sure Denis is busy elsewhere next year, that way maybe a Pantera will have a chance at Best DeTomaso!

Is it a one day event?

Yes, it's the first time they've had the show, and I think they had a pretty good turn out with over 200 cars.

There's an annual British Car Day in September that brings out over 1000 cars and 8000 spectators - it's been running for about 25 years. Toronto has needed an Italian car show, and it'll be interesting to see how it grows as people become aware of it.
Four reasons why I own a Pantera:

• Great Car (equally awesome to drive and look at)
• Great Friends (now my best friends)
• Watching Will kick ass
• Watching David plan his killer engine rebuild to kick Will's ass next year. Wink

Erik: Doug drove all this way and you couldn't? Big Grin Next year...
