This may be a little early, but I was wondering just how many members are going to be driving their Pantera to Reno in June? I have made a few much needed updates to my car since the last Las Vegas event and it looks like the 1200 mile one way trip should be fun even though we will be going through the some of the hottest parts of Arizona and a couple of areas in Nevada.

JFFR is right!
Half the fun is the drive! Don't think of it as the drive to Reno! Think of it as an adventure with with your friends!

Like Larry said, there will be a lot to do once there! Meet up with old friends, beer, make new friends, beer.

Hell...Robert, rent a booth and sell your shirts and stuff, get the word out! I know I always have fun.

And if the Fun Rally does move to BFE we'll have fun there also!

but I don't like Reno.

Wow, coming from a guy that lives in Vegas that's like throwing stones at the glasshouse. Personally I couldn't live in Vegas, but I go to the rally every year. Living in the same state and not coming to the Rally has got to be some sort of carnal sin. But then you didn't come last year either and it was in your own town!

If it was not all of the friends that my wife and I have made at the fun rally since 1989, we would have considered not going to Reno this year. Some of our friends may not go this year because of the change, but we can not boycott the event because of the feelings of a few. We have a small group that we will meet up with to make the second leg of the trip and as it is to be expected, they are also long time friends.

My only regret this year is that I did not get a fuel injection system for the car. Maybe next year.

What? Robert, you spend time here chatting with all your friends and yet don't even bother going to an event in your home town???

I love Vegas, and have never liked Reno. Lived there when I was younger, go there for business occasionally, and went recently to pick up a Ferrari and bring it back to Vegas. The drive between Vegas and Reno is just awful.

But you guys are right, I should suck it up and go. :-)

Last year I was going, but got a new client that had my whole staff working 60-80 weeks just before, and during, the event. I drove to the Orleans parking garage in the middle of the night to see the cars. It really sucked. Had to cancel going to a wedding (that my wife was already at) the morning of my flight too. It was a rough time.

Then you did it wrong. Wink

Look at a map and see this route.

95 North, 266 West merging into 168 taking you to 395 at Big Pine. This is the famous Mike Drew long-way-to-Vegas route done by PCNC. I did it for the first time last year and loved it.

NO traffic on 168/266, fun twisty-turny roads, and 395 with a Valentine on the windshield isn't too bad either.
