Well it's been awhile since I have had time to work on the Pantera. Work has been VERY busy (a good thing!). I sent the car over to Unique auto upholstry in Scottsdale, AZ for some interior updates and I have to say, they do AMAZING work! I wound up having the entire interior redone in Suede and a high grade vinyl (tough to tell it isn't real leather). The headgaskets started leaking out the side, so I pulled the engine to replace them, and took some measurements....the compression was 11.5 to 1, not 10.5 like I was orignally told! So I put some thicker steel layered head gaskets in enough to drop to compression down to 10 to 1, put head studs in (had the factory bolts), and found a problem with the cam. The drive gear had wear on a couple of teeth, and it was wearing the distributor gear. So I know have a new cam...a bit more aggressive, yet still idles...like a Pantera should! I should have it on the dyno next week to get her dialed back in. Last go around it put down 730hp to the tires, and was quite....entertaining to drive! Were going to shoot for 1000 on E85. We installed a flex fuel sensor so I can run any mixture of pump gas and Ethanol. The ECU will automatically correct fuel, timing, and boost accordingly. We are also installing wheel speed sensors for much needed traction control! I'll post some pictures up shortly, once my internet connection is a bit faster!
