Hello, I am the original owner of a 1971 Pantera. This car has the square door handles, no rust, lime green. it is bone stock and has 51,000 miles on it. I have the manuel, spare, tool kit, and factory service manuel (the one used by shops for repair). There is wear on the shifter knob, and i am currently looking for power window motor for driver side window.

I would like to try and get an idea of what it's current market value is.

Sounds like a nice car, although, lime green is not one of the most popular colors. A car in a rust free condition and in the hands of an original owner is very desirable. I believe the range would be $25-35,000.00.
The market is still very strong for cars such as yours that are in strong, original shape. Good luck!

I live in Los Angeles, if I wanted to sell this car what would you suggest the best method to be? Auction, private sale, or dealer. I hesitate going the private sale route as I would not let anyone drive the car nor would I be comfortable in giving an address where the car is located.

This may sound hard line but in the land of exotic cars there are schemes that go on that are hard to believe.
Sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner. This is a summary of strategies, not necessarily in order:
1) This bulletin board (you did that)
2) Hemmings ad
3) Car for sale ad on this website. Cost is $100.00. Includes four or more pictures and text.
4) eBay. Don't expect the highest price here.
5) Since you live in LA, try the Times, Register and of course, the Auto Trader
6) Consignment. Several of the Pantera shops accept consignments including our affiliated PI Motorsports, Inc. I can't speak for the other shops as to their cost. PIM charges 8% of the sales price and a storage charge of $125.00 per month. You won't have to deal with the hordes of "tire kickers" and strangers visiting your home with the inherent risks of that type of activity.
Good luck and please let us know if you are able to market your car!
