Wanted: Air Cleaner for a 1971 Pantera

I thought that too, just get one off an old mustang or something. The problem is the snorkel will not line up correctly. You will have to swivel it to the front of the engine. It will work, but not if you want to be original. What makes it original is the placement of that actuator and the metal shield around it. Hard to find.
The second little problem with using Galaxie or Mustang air cleaners is, the Pantera was rigged for TWO different air cleaners and hot-air choke stoves. Early cars had the snorkel pointed at #1 cylinder and the choke stove hardware on the header at #1 while later cars (like our Sept '72 L model) had the snorkel pointing at #8 cylinder and the choke stove hardware back on #8. This may fix- or not- the adaption.
