ufo-lowI really DO need a bigger hammer!

Any suggestions how to get this knob off without breaking it? The little hole on the underside seems to have a spring loaded mechanism inside. I can push in on it, but it doesn't free the knob. Ideas anyone? Thanks, Rod.

Push in the little hole on the side all the way through with a small screw driver and AT THE SAME TIME place a trim removal tool underneath the knob plastic knob and pry it up. Place a towel under the tool to protect your vinyl. The trim removal like the one below will give you the leverage. Spray a little WD40 into the knob will also help release years of buildup inside, that's why it hard to take off.

That did the trick. Squirting it full of WD40 overnight probably helped too. Didn't see much if any crud inside, but just a very tight fit. Thanks.
