Very very cool George. I used to work on some shipboard diesels none were anywhere that big!! The ones I worked on turned a max of 900 RPM.
I am curious if those are designed for a varible pitch propeller or not?? The varible pitch props let the diesel run at a constant speed and can move the ship ahead or astern without changing the engine speeds again. With a standard propeller the diesels are running a diverter type systems that changes the direction of the diesels rotation to change the ships direction. But awesome photos George.
