180 degree header advantages/disadvantages

could i get some opinions of the horsepower and torque changes that the 180 degree headers will give over say a normal header system on our cars with the 4V heads...i've talked to 2 people that have them and one says that I will gain some midrange power, where the other says that I will lose power unless the motor is over 6000 rpm...any thoughts?
