Reply to "1974 PANTERA - Too good to be true?"

I first saw this car over 15 years ago at the Pantera Summit Meeting we chaired in Cambria, California. The gentleman that built the car, Mark Parsons of Orcutt, California proudly unveiled it. The wide body look on the rear was copied off (at least I believe) our Group 5 Pantera, Whiplash. The paint and body plus engine were of a very high standard. The headlight treatment was and still is most unusual. I believe that the car was built from a wreck perhaps a burn down, if I recall. Some months later, the owner put the car up for sale for $35,000.00 which was a lot back then. Subsequently, he called me and was trying to sell the car for a very nominal amount due to financial problems, like $15,000.00. I was sorry I didn't purchase it, but circumstances didn't permit it. Sadly, Mr. Parsons committed suicide and the whereabouts of the car became unknown, until now. Part of the fun of owning a Pantera is the way owners modify them to their tastes. This causes purists to pull their hair out. I have learned to find beauty in almost all cars. Thus, I can appreciate how you might be turned on to this car's styling. If you do purchase the car, please let us know. I would like to update this car in our magazine.
Cordially, Dave Adler Pantera International
