FWIW, '71- 72 Panteras only had one rheostat. They often go inoperative but are quite easy to fix without even disassembling. On the back, there are two brass stubs protruding a little but have no connectors. Jump the two blunt ends and see if the rheostat works; if so, solder a short jumper across the two ends.
