An electric sports car is certainly cutting edge, green, and forward looking. Not my cup of tea, but I'm an old fossil, I know there will be some guys interested in such a vehicle. And like David wrote, there certainly are guys with the money to afford such a vehicle, but not that many amongst the ranks of North American Pantera owners.

My advice is keep it as light as possible, because light cars accelerate quicker, brake in less distance, respond to driver inputs more responsively, negotiate turns at higher speeds, handle better. Give it just enough electric motor to make it the fastest car on the road, perhaps offer that 1000 ft/lb motor as an upgrade.

Guys interested in the car will be asking how many miles per charge at what speed, time to recharge, warranty period on the batteries, replacement cost of batteries. But those are questions for the guys who are interested to ask.

Of course, the new owners of DeTomaso have my best wishes for success.
