There is another oil dipstick location on windsor's. It is on the side of the block. Between cyl 7 and 8. This would be the left side of the block in a Pantera. Just above the oilpain rail there is a threaded port (perhaps plugged with a threaded plug on your engine). This requires a threaded oil dipstick. The problem with this location is its interference with the headers. I tried to use this port, but I had too much interference with the headers and my 427 crank hit the dipstick.
The attached link is the best I can find on its location. Look at image/figure 2. That is the same location as my oil port.
If you can get this to work, it is a great location. Eliminated the crazy long and looping cleveland oil dipstick.
