A used side oiler block is easy worth $3500. Get them for whatever you can.
A $500 offer each is likely to loose everything.
I would approach the owner and ask how much he wants.
Then you have a chance of getting them. If he says that he knows what they are and he wants $10,000 each then the game is over anyway.
