I have never personally run port plates, but I have run a mismatched 2V intake on 4V heads and the increase in low end is "astounding" to quote the cars owner. The engine was completely built and according to him, 'not much fun to drive around town after a few years', but with the only change being a swap-meet 2V intake, he was very happy. Note- the motor will 'fall flat on its face above 5200rpm', so if you go there regularly, the intake change won't work for you.
