That 1/4 " steel flange has 2 purposes. One it ties the rear roll bar into the roof support ..that was your idea ...and a damn good one I might add... the other it acts as a flange to accept a gasket or seal around where I will have to cut the lexan.

Yes the brace I bought at McmasterCarr ... I reallize it may not work ... it will involve a whole lot of aluminum welding that I;m not sure I want to get into ... but after adding all that cage ..I;m starting to lean toward wieght reduction ...way back when my 66 Comet Drag car ended up on this track ..and in its final glory it wieghed 2950lbs with me in it ... that was lighter then the Mustangs.
