Reply to "8-Blade cooling fans"

8-blade fans were factory-stock in the '75-80 time frame. They probably move a little more air than the 4-bladed fans, but it's not really worth the trouble since the basic concept is inadequate. 4-blade fans blow about 300cfm (cubic feet per minute) of air apiece at two discs of radiator tubes 10" in diameter. IMHO, what is needed is about 900cfm apiece over the entire radiator tube surface, which can only be done practically by adding a full fan shroud and sucker fans with more powerful motors regardless of the blade design. The radiator need not be tipped fwd to do this, although it's simpler to lean it fwd a bit.
