Well I found out the knob switch was faulty, when I shorted the 2 wires leading to it, the A/C worked. Cooler air from vents, and the vertical cannister next to rear radiator got real cold.

However, after a few miles the rear fan still ran, but no cooling effect, and the cannister was also no longer cold.
How come it worked for 5 minutes and then no more? Is the rear fan connected to the compressor, so that when the fan runs, I'll know that the system is working?
