Makes sense. I have a dash mounted switch that enables the compressor and runs the condenser fan(s) continusly. Only the compressor comes in and out with the thrmostat. I guess the only way i will know if the pressure is too high...a blown hose..or too low, hot air coming from vents. Either way I think I can shut it down before I damage the compressor. I don't really want to think about that right now..if you know what I mean? The extra switches are just another place to have a leak IMHO..
