I was halfway through your post before I realized your trip to my hometown of Seattle was "virtual". Good thing, too. This is not a good road trip destination for those avoiding rain. However if you do actually come up to the NW the summers are incredible and generally last from August 10 to about August 14...Truly beautiful. I'll drive my pantera whenever the sun makes an appearance. This translates into about 3000 miles per year.
