Kid,

My '71 (#1490) isn't too far from the last pushbutton and it has two different size tanks. The overflow tank is 4-3/4" longer than the swirl tank. Perhaps it was discovered that the overflow tank did not have enough capacity when the engine coolant got really warm (read: HOT).
