Angelo, neutralize the battery acid and flush with lots of water, dry and get most of the loose rust off with a wire brush, they use Jasco Prep and Prime...one quart at Home Depot is about $10 and would do your whole trunk and probably the entire engine bay...Prep and Prime turns the rust into Iron Phosphate...is super easy to apply with a paint brush, then prime it and it will never rust again.
