Thanks for the advice!
I'm now planning on soda blasting the car, that should neutralize the acid while cleaning things up. I've been scraping with the heat gun removing as much junk off of the car as possible before blasting. What a time consuming pain in the rear.

Hard to believe this project started with just a compressor replacement.
