adjusting valves without cam information

is there a ways to adjust your valves without a cam card? I have a hydraylic cam I believe. Not totally sure since I have driven my car a grand total of two times and have been unimpressed with the power and had a swaybar bracket missing a bolt that was causing fender lip damage.
