Reply to "AFD 351c 4v heads"

I bought a set of the 2V heads and another friend of mine bought the 4Vs. I'm sure he'll chirp in when he reads this thread. Getting the heads was a gut wrenching nightmare. I guy didn't actually have the heads. He orders them from Australia. I didn't know that when I bought them and he didn't tell me. It took more than a few months to get them after numerous stories of why they were late. They were supposedly going to be delivered in with special packing but mine came wrapped in a sheet of bubble wrap in a cardboard box that was way too big. They bounced around so bad the tops of one of the valve guides was bent and needed to be replaced and the sealing surfaces for the valve covers were pretty badly banged up. I used a Weiand Xcelerator for the intake as recommended and it needed a bit of filling to match the heads. The chamber surfaces needed so cleaning up also. The good news is that the guy who flowed them was impressed. I don't have access to the numbers where I'm at now but I should have them next week. My car will be dynoed this week with the new parts and I have a baseline before the changes so I'll be glad to report the difference the first week of April.
