Just to add some fuel to the fire, I had always heard that those "dogbone" air cleaners were restrictive as well. However, John Taphorn, current POCA president, did some "mythbusting" on the dyno. I wish I could remember his exact results, because I'd hate to mis quote him, but I think he found that air cleaner only cost him 2 hp or something like that. I think that it was within a hp or two of a round K&N, or something like that.
I remember the results if not the details - the dogbone was not nearly as restrictive as people thought.
