Reply to "Air Cleaner Paper Tube hangers"

Jerry,

Thanks for the shots!!!!

I checked my rear section last nite for "mystery holes" and found four that appear to be the original locations for the tubing supports!!! However, they did not appear to be large 6mm type, but more like sheet metal screws were used on #878. A production deviation perhaps...

OK, I rechecked my checking and found "sheet metal screw" sized holes on the LH side of my car (viewed from rear) and 6mm type bolt holes on the RH side of my car! THAT is what I would call a production deviation...... Of course I have none of the original fastners....or hangers......

I must say, the bracing on this car, for the AC unit and the alternator are like none I've seen yet! Also, it looks like the welding around the L & R trans support is rather interesting!

I also noted the triangular bracing in the rear corner of the frame in that last shot! I do not recall seeing that on #878, so may have been a "new" thing somewhere along the line!

The threaded bit on the spare tire mount is also an "outie" where mine is an "innie"....

Thanks again!
Another question or three....
Do these appear to be made of thin steel or aluminum!?

They look to be about 17-18mm wide?

Steve
