Reply to "Aluminum flywheel?"

I was ambivalent about recommending the use of aluminum flywheels in the Pantera, but driving Jim Cozzolino's GT5 (which was equipped with an aluminum flywheel) put an end to my concerns. Frankly I couldn't detect an adverse effect in the drivablity of his Pantera.

I drove Jim's Pantera on dry asphalt. There may very well be some applications were the alloy flywheel may create problems, such as driving in bad weather on wet or icy asphalt. It may not be the best idea for a daily driver that will see use on wet roads. Jim drove his Pantera daily, but he lives in the Phoenix area, not exactly the wettest climate.
