AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE?

I purchased a Euro isis grille crest from Hall (the one that is on special on their website right now) I tried to put it on...Whaddaya know the spacing of the studs on the back doen not match the mounting plate tack welded to the grille. Do I need to drill holes? was this log meant for the groupe 5 cars an not a 71? Considering the number of American cars and that this an aftermarket item offered to predomintately Us spec car owners.
