An old cooling chestnut! (new coolant pump suction tube is too short)

Back in 2014 I bought a set of new stainless cooling pipes green stripe hoses, clips and a new radiator, this was a huge outlay for me and only possible due to shipping costs being cut by help from Mike Drew.

After fitting all this stuff the pipe from the water pump didn't line up with the chassis pipe,
(pic1) I contacted the firm I bought it from who were of the opinion I was a spanish onion, English and therefore an Idiot. No one else has a problem was the answer.

So I stretched the rubber hoses and made do, but it dripped………

recently I took out the engine to clean the engine bay and do a few things to brighten up the old girl. So when it came to re fitting the water pipes I came across the same problem.

I took quite a few pics and sent them to the seller who again said that they didn't have a problem with the pipe.

I sent more pics and explained that at work for an American company, my working area was Europe Africa and the Mid East, and had worked in 50 different countries repairing Mobile hydraulic cranes without a problem, they said they would investigate.

I heard nothing, so sent my pics to Johnny Woods
who is a genius with metal,(pic2) he told me to send him the pipe, the third pic is the modification Johnny did to the pipe, (Pic3)

Picture 4 shows the pipe now lines up perfectly with the pipe it is intended to.

I claim no plaudits for the repair for it was Mr Woods who solved the problem, but surely others have had this happen, and it must be as hard to make a part that doesn't fit as it is to make it work properly. I know I'm a moaning sod and maybe I shouldn't complain but things like this really do get up my nose!!!
