Reply to "Another New Pantera Rumor"

I would love to see a new "Pantera" type of sports car enter the marketplace. A sports car that is both exciting to look at and performs like a brute such that it stirs up visceral emotions strong enough to last a lifetime. One that is powerful, yet affordable enough that a teenage boy in high school can say to himself ... one day I'll own one of those cars ... and it isn't a pipe dream that is out of his reach. A new sports car that isn't a status symbol (i.e. like a Ferrari) or a me too car (i.e. like a Corvette) but an individualists car ... like a DeTomaso!

How many of us current owners fit into that description? Smiler

I don't think the new DeTomaso and I see eye to eye on that subject. They don't understand the experience I'm talking about ... they don't care about high school boys and visceral emotions. But Alejandro understood what its like to have a car under your skin ... and what it means to be an individualist.

I own my dream car ... I'm just as passionate about it today as I was when I first saw one at Peyton Lincoln Mercury in 1971. I'm not in the market for a new dream car. I'm still tight within the grip of that visceral emotion. But I think the young guys in high school today deserve their own "Pantera" experience, so yeah bring on the next Pantera!

I've been working on 6018 lately, and I gotta tell you, opening the doors and being hit in the face with that smell .... that Pantera fragrance ... there's just nothing like it. If they bottled that smell I'd wear it for cologne.
