Ford/Chevy? Always a good topic. I was born and bred with Chevy, and in my younger years I wouldn't buy anything else. But things have evolved. Now I have one Chevy, I have two Chrysler's as the daily drivers, and of course two DeTomasos with Ford Clevelands. I like them all.
I doubt anybody driving a Pantera, old or new, can feel/guess what brand of V8 is powering it.
And now the flame statement: I think we all should be glad DeTomaso made a deal with Ford and not GM/Chevy. Why? Not because the Cleveland was superior to the Chevy, but since the Chevy-following is so much bigger, the car would have been more sought after and therefore more expensive for us to buy.
When my half-race Cleveland has its final breakdown, if someone like saccrestorations has kit ready, I'd consider a swap to that Chevy engine.
