Get a thin, flat tooth pick and use it as a wedge between the red hazard button and the black housing. Try different points and test the lighting functions. Maybe select 3-6-9-12.

IF your problems go away during your testing, you have found your culprit.

At this point, you can choose to do what many owners have done and .....leave the toothpick right there.

Or replace the little booger. They require your full attention to not screw up the wiring order/placement.

The switches are common to many BMW cars and should be easily sourced from the UK or Roland in Germany. If you go that route, be aware there are some small differences between units that outwardly appear the same. Ask and all shall be revealed.
