Dear Steve,

Ah, yes, the small,discrete, interior AM/FM antenna option.

About twenty five years ago, I bought a smallish antenna from Pantera Performance. IIRC, installation was easy. Pretty discrete in the upper right corner of the windshield.

Good news: No need to cut a hole in the body nor add more stuff to the engine bay.
It works fine in metropolitan areas with strong signals

Bad news: It does not have the reception of a standard antenna for weaker or more distant stations.

All of above is pertinent to late 20th century antenna technology. Current antennas may be better. Perhaps.
