I would hit up the Mustang forums for such a swap! Finding the AOD trans these days for a SBF is also no easy feat! I think the "control line" or linkage and adjustment is the crucial deal. Shifter needs another position notch I think. Your LC has column shift? If so, there is a piece in the column that can be swapped out to allow the OD position to be engaged or not.

PS It would be interesting to find out which version of the C6 was used in the LC!!! There is light duty, medium, and heavy duty versions, basically different numbers of clutch discs in first and high gears. Small aluminum tag perhaps on the side servo cover could reveal all. If you can get that, I can look it up and figure out what you have..... HD, medium, or yawn!
