Reply to "Auction Coming Up in LA"

i went to the preauction review of the 3 panteras and the mangusta.
1. they are all gary hall work over super panteras
2. the two that appear to be 73s based on the vinyl dash, were recovered with leather and the vin nos. have been tampered with.either replaced and and counterfit made,i typically will not bid on such a car until i can see the calif. title. they would not produce and there are no plates on the cars. i got the attention of one of the top federal agents, who saidthey will federalize the cars. but i said what about the state of calif? smog regs, these could be reworked 1974s which would create too much of a hassle for me.1974 has to be oem equipment only, thus worth less in calif anyway.the last pantera was a gary hall work over of a european model pantera with vin number in the front trunk.all very nice. fed agts said they got them from oxnard calif,as money laundering snafu.the mangusta was a total disaster because of rust.finally the feds asked me to leave because i am spoiling other potential bidders on these cars.that was the big tip off not to bid on these panteras, caveat emptor!!!ALSO YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SIT IN THE CARS,NOR KICK THEM OVER,CHECK MILEAGE,THEY ARE LOCKED.there were at least 1400 bidders there.and they had another day left to view.one would do far better getting a private party pantera from a seller who was a lot more flexible in going over the car,i.e. mchanic, test ride, paperwork. i hope the feds choke on these monstrositites.
