Reply to "Backfire"

Hey V8,

If this happens more than once, take this to mean your motor is telling you something is wrong.

Backfires can occur in the tail pipe, at the outlet of the tail pipe, in the intake manifold and above the carburetor. The power valves of Holley carburetors will be damaged by backfires in the intake manifold. If your car starts running poorly, fuel mileage is worse, black soot in the tailpipes, the smell of unburned fuel in the exhaust, your power valves are most likely "toast".

Backfires are caused by a mis-firing condition, but there are many many causes of a misfiring condition. It could be as simple as water in your fuel tank. Or maybe its just a one time freak occurence.

Hey, your names are growl & rover, what is this, a kennel? lol.................
