I replaced the stock alternator on my car with a 130 amp internally cooled and regulated. I can not get rid of the belt squeeling. I have tried to shim it this way and the other. Tried a couple of different pulleys. I found a place where the bracket was up against the block casting. No luck.
Has anyone else experienced this problem who might have a suggestion? What is the part of the bracket for that reaches behind a cast ear on the block that has a bolt?

Try getting the belt as tight as you can. I have a 140 amp alternator and as soon as I start increasing electrical load, the belt will slip and make noise. If all of your sheaves look good and it is the correct belt, the noise should go away.
