Best a/c compressor for late model Panteras

I'm looking for some advice on which compressor is the best replacement for the one in my 1989 GT5. It already has a rotary compressor, which I assume was installed by the factory. However, it is difficult to see the make and model number while it is still in the car. Should I pull it and replace it with the same brand, or use some other type of compressor? I have read that Model No. 508 Sankyo or else Sanden SD508 style, model 8390 compressors are the best for early model cars; is there any difference for late model cars?

In case I can't re-use my bracket if I go to a Sankyo or Sanden compressor, do any of the vendors sell kits for a 351W application?

Any advice or experience you could share would be appreciated.
