No Ford parts dealer could match up the part numbers on my factory compressor. However, one parts supplier let my friend into their warehouse, where he rummaged around until he found an exact match. It turns out that, except for the part number, the compressor is identical to the generic late 1980s Ford pickup truck unit.

So, yes, you can get it at NAPA, your Ford dealer, and probably even your local corner convenience store. And I can attest that it will work.
