This is not a scary thing to do at all. Unless you intend to drop it off at Pep Boys and have some 19 year old figure it out all by himself ;-)

I've had this done a couple of times at shops. And I helped in the direction, placement and checking of the lift pads, just in case. Just behind the doors and just behind the front wheelwells, and just inside the rocker panels you will find some 1" holes in the "frame" rails. These are the stock jack lifting points. Also, as you mentioned, the 3 bolts at the motor mount area also offer a very strong point. Be careful driving onto the lift and check ground clearance as you go. You should have no problems.
