Reply to "Beware Paypal Dispute"

I was told a while back never to attach your bank account to your paypal accout to get verified.
A freind said that if there is a problem of some sort paypal can freeze your bank account.
Is that true?
I have just reached my $5000.00 pay pal limit and need to get verified in order to buy more using pay pal.
I dont understand why i have a limit when i can spend a lot more on my visa.
I was thinking on going to another bank other then my regular banks getting an account just to get verified.
What do you think?
