I just did exactly what you are about to do. I replaced my stock cam with a 280 degree,.530 lift (Comp Cams hydraulic), changed the heads to stock 2-V open chamber heads (with exhaust port plates), changed intake manifold to Weiand 2-V Accelerator intake, changed carbs to a 650 Holley double pumper and watch out- - -it screams now!!! Do it and be instantly happy!
