Bodywork (Again)

Having started removing the paint, I find not surprisingly about 6 coats of paint, what I didn't expect was the copious amounts of bondo which had been applied to bodywork which was not accident damaged.
Beneath the bondo which is awful stuff to remove its about a 16th of an inch thick! is the undamaged panel work. I wonder who did this to such a lovely car, it can't have been the factory surely? it was even on the areas covered by my fibreglass shell arch extensions that you don't see, when they are fitted.

Apologies for posting pics that many of you must have seen countless times, but its the first for me. There is a LOT of Lead loading though and brazing to the roof "A" post, any advice appreciated.
