Reply to "Bolt Grades"

The grade of metric hex head bolts is usually shown on the bolt head in the form of a number like 8.8, 10.9, 12.9, etc. A 10.9 bolt would typically be used in the locations you mentioned, but there's a chance it may have been an 8.8. An 8.8 bolt is similar to an SAE grade 5, a 10.9 is close to an SAE grade 8. Stronger is almost always better, so if you cannot confirm the grade of the original fasteners don't go below a 10.9.
